I remember the movie Melody fair, a nice movie, but Mark and Jack could never quite match the success they had with Oliver.
I was standing in the newsagents WH Smiths many years ago flicking through a magazine and a man came and stood next to me and picked up a magazine and when I glanced at him I realized it was Jack Wilde, I didn't speak to him because I was speechless. Oliver is my favourite film of all time but I never wanted to scream over Mark or Jack.

The girls used to scream at Beatles films in Japan,
and this carried on to just about any movie with
a teen star in it.
The Dave Clark 5 "Catch Us If You Can" - The Monkees
"Head" and the like.
"Melody Fair" was a scream fest in Japan!
I once saw Mark Lester go into my bank (Midland,
Slone Square) and was surprised at how tall he was.
I laughed to myself, remembering being opening act
for his film, and was tempted to tell him that fact.
But I didn't.
This was aftwer The Arrows, during my time with the
band Runner, so around 1978-79 or so.
Midland bank is gone.
I miss the seventies.

| My sister spent many years working for Midland bank, she started when she was 16 in 1973. I was 8 and she took me out for a big ice cream when she got her first wages, I miss the '70's too. |

Midland Bank is now HSBC - I still bank with them and occasionally revert to the old name thus confusing anyone under the age of 40!

When I lived at the Nell Gwynn House
on Sloane Street I used the Micland Bank
Sloane Square back in 1974.
It was the first cheque book I had in my life.
I'd had bank accounts, but I recall feeling so
grown up having an actual cheque book.
The Nell Gwynn house, where I lived during
1974-75 during The Arrows "Touch Too Much"
phase and where I wrote "I Love Rock N Roll."
The Midland Bank logo. Midland bank RIP.
The bank manager at my Sloane Square branch
was very nice to me, and his daughter was an Arrows fan.

I had money left in my Midland account
when they went under.
Tried to get it in 1999,
late in the game.
They pretty much said "hard luck,"
get in line.
A very long queue it is as well.

Well Cerise, I just did a show with Godzilla keyboard wizzard Haruo Chikada here in Japan.
It was the first time wed been on stage together since 1972!
He played keyboards on the encore number that I did, Route 66!
